Alfaro Hotels

Alfaro is situated in Rioja Oriental within La Rioja in northern Spain and is bordered by the Ebro and Alhama rivers.

Discover centuries-old churches and palaces as you stroll through the city centre. These include the historic Abbey and Abbey Palace (18th century) and the San Miguel Collegiate Church, a late-17th-century masterpiece of Baroque architecture. The Eras de San Martn archaeological site and the Ninfeo Romano, a Roman water system designated as a Cultural Property, are well worth a visit.

It is well-known for the annual migration and nesting of the ‘Storks of Alfaro’; the town is home to the largest stork colony, which nests on a single building. More than 400 of these birds choose the San Miguel Collegiate Church to build their nests. If you are fortunate enough to witness these storks flying through the air at once, you will never forget the sight.
