Haro Hotels
Haro in La Rioja is the wine capital of the region and is famous for its Wine Festival and the wine fight, the Batalla de Vino.
It is immediately apparent from the bronze statues and wall art that adorn the town that this is a town that takes great pride in its culture and art. Haro, the wine capital of Rioja and a self-proclaimed open-air museum, is a fascinating town with a distinct flavour. And, of course, an abundance of excellent wine!
Wineries, known as bodegas, are abundant in the area surrounding Haro, and the Rioja Alta Wine Route passes through the city. Haro celebrates its winemaking history and reputation annually with the Battala de Vino at the Haro Wine Festival.
The town is effectively divided into two sections: the historic centre and the wine region, which is centred near the train station in a neighbourhood known as Barrio de la Estacion. The wine region is approximately 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the historic centre. Despite its relatively small size, the town offers a surprising variety of activities, from the most sedate to the most energetic, ensuring that every member of the family will find something to enjoy.
